The Halcyon Experience  offers therapy for adults, children and couples

Psychotherapy

Therapy helps an individual with mental health issues, emotional issues or even daily life struggles resulting from stress or other conflicts. It aims at helping clients understand themselves and gaining insight into their choices. It helps to resolve troublesome behaviours, beliefs and assumptions, thoughts and emotions as well as improving relationships and social skills. It is a collaborative interaction between a therapist and client to improve their quality of life.

We provide individual therapy, Family therapy, Marital and Couples therapy, Therapy for Children and Adolescents.

At THE, we are trained to provide therapy using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Behavioural Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy and Supportive Therapy. Each form of therapy is specific to the needs of the individual to ensure they receive the help they require.

Dance/
Movement Therapy (DMT)

This is a form of expressive art therapy that uses movement and creative expression to enhance emotional, physical, and mental well-being. Rooted in the connection between body and mind, D/MT helps individuals process emotions, reduce stress, build confidence and improve overall mental health.

No dance experience is needed—just a willingness to explore and connect with yourself.

Dance/movement therapy focuses primarily on non-verbal behaviour and communication. As the mind and body are constantly interacting, movement and emotions are interconnected.

At T.H.E, we practice D/MT with clients who want to understand their emotions better, work through traumatic life experiences, build confidence, or manage stress.

Psychological Assessments

The understanding of an individual’s capabilities, cognitive abilities or personality traits can be done through psychological assessments.

The following are conducted at THE using established tests and scales:

- Learning difficulties

- Cognitive functions

- Personality traits

- Other assessments to clarify particular diagnosis
